SHOOTING

As a photographer, my job is to capture the moment, be it something for yourself, a personal intimate gift, self-promotion, social content, an event or something entirely different!

Personal/Private Shoots

Collaboration is key to capturing the image in your mind's eye, to create those amazing images that make people go "wow", and give you a relaxed comfortable experience. I'll work with you beforehand to plan the shoot, or we can just see what happens if you don't have any specific concepts.

I'm glad to take on "trade-for" for non-commercial, personal, creative projects that benefit everyone involved.

Commercial Shoots

If you're looking for something (different/unique/more-of-the-same) for your branded social media, (shameless) self-promotion, content sites, whatever -- we can create amazing content working together. As you can see from my galleries, I'm not afraid to capture alternative, edgy, racy, sexy content to suit your needs.

Events

Starting with promotions, I can create eyecatching images to feature on your socials, website, even ancient technology like printing!

At events, I create a fully equipped Pop Up Photo Studio - camera, lights, backdrop, and a real live honest-to-goodness photographer to capture your guests' look on the night! Unlike an automated kiosk, having a photographer there to coach your guests to their best relaxed look makes all the difference - capturing great dynamic photos, memorialising their night. Within days of the event, I'll cull, clean up and provide a private gallery for your guests to view and download their photos, or I can prepare the photos for you to distribute.

Pricing

I prefer to work on a package basis so everyone knows the costs upfront. My fee is based on several factors, including (but not limited to):

  • shoot time / complexity
  • setups / number of outfits
  • studio / venue hire (if needed)
  • number of cleaned up images delivered digitally, printed or in a book
  • non-local travel and out-of-pocket expenses

Get Started

Every project is unique. The best way to get started is to contact me with your needs, idea or concept and I'll get back to you to let you know how I can visually bring it to life.

Some Common Questions

What can we shoot?
I'm a people person.
Where can we shoot?
Sydney is full of fabulous locations, public and private; easily accessible or well off the beaten path. There are also wonderful locations available to hire depending upon your budget and needs - private luxury apartments, fetish venues, dungeons, grungy theatre's, warehouses.

For more traditional (or untraditional) shoots, I have access to both a large white cyclorama studio (with a suspension point) and a rustic industrial sunlight loft, both in the city near Central Station. I'm glad to work with you to find the best location for your shoot.
I've never modelled before, is that OK
Feeling comfortable in front of the camera is key to creating great images. My job is to guide you and help you relax, so you look natural in front of the camera. In fact, most of the images on my site feature people who never modelled before our photo shoot. I won't push you outside your comfort zone, but I will do my best to ensure that you look your best.
My ideas are a bit traditional
I'm glad to capture that social media headshot, the family photo, the promo "fluff" shot.
My ideas are a bit "risque"
l enjoy pushing boundaries, and as you can see from my photo galleries, I'm not shy when it comes to photographing boudoir, fetish, latex, BDSM play, sex workers, intimate moments, couples, or non-traditional roles. Please ask!
Hair? Makeup?? Outfits???
Most of the people I shoot do their own hair and makeup, and bring their own outfits. I'm glad to offer feedback to help you pick outfits to bring along to the shoot. Of course, you are most welcome to bring along your own hair/makeup/dresser person to ensure you look ultra amazing!
How much do you retouch?
My initial clean up includes minimal retouching. Looking at a static image of someone is very different than having that living breathing person in front of you. I want to ensure that the person in the photo is the person you are, and that people don't focus on that once-a-year zit on your forehead.
What images do you provide?
There is nothing like a large print of a photo suitable for framing, or a book that you can thumb-through to view the amazing photos we shot. Digitally, I can provide high-resolution image files in TIF or JPG formats and low-resolution images suitable for posting on social media once clean up is complete.
Can I have the raw images?
Few images are ready straight-out-of-the-camera. I prefer to deliver images after they have been colour and lighting balanced, cropped, and given a general clean up.
Privacy!
Your photos are yours!* Privacy is paramount in today's environment. Any photos you see here on my web site or for promotions are only posted with the model's written permission. I use online password-protected galleries for reviewing your photos, but we can also do that review in-person.
* the exception to prove-the-rule being "trade for" images

Our web site privacy policy can be found here.
And finally... Do you really shoot with Silver Nitrate?
Not anymore! While I do miss the darkroom in my parents basement, but maybe not the chemicals, I shoot digital now. Sorry to disappoint if you're looking for the box camera guy in my logo or wet plate photographs.
